Almost certain you clicked the wrong link. Fort mode should only be a few text files in an objects folder that you can tag on to whatever DF game you might have (while adventure mode should be the whole shebang) - I haven't done anything to the entity files yet. Is it possible you combined the two?

Re combat ephemerality of Ghost types(and charmanders' tail flames), Gizogin's sig mentions fluffballs, which are ephemeral in combat due to being made entirely of feathers. The dwarves and such don't realize it, though…

When I downloaded the Fort mode, It was only playable as pokemon. Did I click  the wrong link, or is it a mispost?

Wrong link, as that is the scenario you get if you are daft enough to try playing a fortress through the Adventure Download.

Oooh, this is an intriguing development!

My Dwarves seem to think fire energy is food for stockpile purposes. At least it vanishes quickly.

Oh I see. They use the "Clean" job and it vanishes.

Yeah, that's how it has to be I'm afraid. The game keeps any used "ammo" as a mess, even if the material's boiling point is 1000 urists :P

Ha. One of my Charmeleons tried to throw a party in my dining hall. Which failed because their all pastured. Maybe I should decorate their pen.

Yeah, feathers are basically intangible in combat.  Blunt weapons seem to sometimes be able to hit them, but bladed weapons just pass through.  I haven't done much testing on multi-part creatures with feather tissues, so I can't speak for how well the Charmander family's tails would work.  It might still be possible to sever their flames with edged weapons or something, but it's something I can experiment with if need be.

Personally, I don't mind the Char- tails being made of actual fire; I just gave the body part the SMALL tag so hopefully it won't be targeted so frequently. I do think fancy feather body might be a good attack for the Ghastly line though.

Anywho, back to the mission.

Seeing as the Slowpokes aren't in yet, I have a suggestion:
Give Slowpoke an extract that it secretes from its tail, that causes euphoria and other stuff.  Then you can chop off a Slowpoketail and lick the extract off, just like Team Rocket did in the GSC games.

I was going to say that's silly, but it's canon, so delicious Slowpoketails for all! I think Slowpoke extract is going to have to be a craftable ingredient now...

Oh hey, apparently Shellder poison turns Slowpokes into geniuses if applied directly to the brain. Man, the fluff is weird. Weird and awesome.

hehe.. maybe Shellder poison is a neuro-toxen that overloads the nervous system's sensitivity causing severe pain, just... slowpokes are already slow, so "Slow+Overload=Above average" with out the 'severe pain' side effect sense it's not pushed all the way in to melt down?

And here I go trying to explain Pokemon metaphysics >.>

Another thought that comes to mind: Magnemite are natural.. but made of human items. Maybe Magnemites are really magnetic energy beings that happen to attract easily magnetic items, and before their was screws and magnets.. they were made up of more natural magnetic materials.. like the iron ore Magnetite... which sounds almost like it.

so Magnemites should drop Magnetite or iron perhaps?

Still, being able to extract various pokemon poisons could prove to be Fun he he he

Weee random speculation~

Edit: just came the realization that the average DF player is just gonna use Magnemite's as a form of renewable iron-mine if they can breed at all >->;

At first I tried to mke a farm for globs of elemental material. It didn't work, but it did turn out to be a good training room. Then the charmander I had training in it evolved into a charmeleon, and imediately torched the target.

Obviously, Shellder needs a poison that only affects Slowpokes and give them massive boosts to all mental stats.  Unless it bites the Slowpoke's tail...
And what's wrong with having Magnemite as iron farms?  This is Dwarf Fortress, after all.

Is it possible to make a poison that has different effects on different creatures? Like pain and over-sensitivity on most creatures, but boosted speed to slowpokes to make them more normal/evolve?

It should be, yes.
