Well, I'm running Win7 and I've never had that issue with anything, so it's probably just an XP thing. Really the only things I can suggest are cleaning up your startup folder, running antivirus software, running CCleaner, that sort of stuff. If you're willing to go all adventurous, then a reinstall or an upgrade might be in order to start with a clean slate  :-\, but that's probably unnecessary.

Well, I dont care if it works for me, to be honest. I just want a clean, running version for my mod. I would like to add it as an option into my GUI.

Ooh, that would be pretty neat. Although I would like to finish polishing it up and push out another release before that if you don't mind.

It's functional, just a bit messy and unintuitive, so I'd like to fix it up before tons of people get confused about how it works.  :'(

Sure. Whenever you are ready just tell me. Setting it up for me is quite easy, although a compiled exe, OR preinstalled autohotkey in my download would be nice.

So far everything I include needs only a click on a button in my GUI. I can easily link to the launch.ahk and run it, but I cant install autohotkey for people.

Yeah, I can set it up to be fully self-contained, no problem. I'll also have sort out the .exe as well. Does Masterwork have a copy of it included?

A copy of what included ? The GUI ? Sure, it is a VB based program I wrote for people so they can change settings, removed/add parts of the mod they like/dislike, but it can do a bit more then just that as well :)

Nah, I'm talking about Dwarf Fortress.exe. If Masterwork has it's own folder with that and the various DF files, then it can be fully streamlined down to one press.

Hehe, that's definitely the best way to go about it then. The only difference between the two is that the modified run always starts at the same base address so that I can get reliable offsets.

Alright, I've pushed out a new update which polishes everything up, and fleshes out the documentation a bit. It can now be launched just by running launch.exe, which doesn't require AHK to be installed. Make sure to replace Dwarf Fortress.exe with the included one or a lot of the stuff won't work. :-\ You can go ahead and include it Meph, this release fixes the stuff I was worried about before. :)

Hehe, yeah, that's a bit weird. Anyway, just as a heads up to people, I'm fleshing out the next update that should simplify the syntax a lot and add a bunch of new flags. And it'll integrate with DFHack  8).

Ok, integration with dfhack is awesome, since it automaticaly starts up with DF. :)

Well, I'm working on dfhack -> mouse fortress integration, but right now it's just the other way.  :-\ Eventually I'm hoping to port it over to be a dfhack plugin, but that's a way off.

Wow. This is really amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect with the lack of documentation, but then I understood that everything is accessible through the context menu, and even better, you intercept most DF common shortcuts to provide improved, mouse-based behavior.

Overall it's rather nice but a bit fiddly to use, with the cursor spazzing around while following the mouse. Also, sometimes I'd like to use keyboard designation to count precisely the tiles of the room I'm digging, and I haven't found how.


Edit: also, I find that the scrolling doesn't work well. The one in k/d mode goes way too fast, and the one with the middle mouse button would perhaps work better if you found a way to make it proportional to the mouse movement, i.e. more like panning around. I guess I depends on your preferences for this last one.
