Also you are to have one spoiler per person at the bottom of the turn for statuses. Inventory, location, pokemon(and related concerns, such as their HP and if they have a status ailment, did they pick up an item a la zigzagoons pickup ability.) and such.

I've identified a major problem, combat is going to be repetitive as hell.

As such:

Flint uses scratch. I punch the Rattatta in the face.

You must really hate Rattatas. Flint gets a critical hit, doing 8 damage, and your fist does another 4. The Rattata has fainted, and your Torchic gains a level!
