Archmage Arena: END

The world needs an Archmage. Eight competitors are willing to die for the chance to claim this prestigious title.

This will be a fairly short RTD. Eight people will join, each with a different magic type. Players may prepare however they wish for eight turns, and will be brought together by the god of arenas on turn nine. The doubtlessly humble wizards shall then have a polite discussion to determine who should rule the world as the Archmage. Obviously these well-educated people of immense power won't be tempted to settle their differences through barbaric means.

Most rolls will be D6.

That's eight, we're starting.

Those who failed their spot check and tried to change names (TCM, kingfisher1112, and empfan) start in the human trading town of Smithinington, each in a different tavern. Everyone else may choose a starting position: A town, in a wizard's tower as a recently-graduated apprentice, a small magical university, or perhaps somewhere else. Everyone starts with basic clothing (mcclay may choose concealing robes instead, if he wishes) and a small undefined amount of gold (easily enough to either live on for about four months, or probably buy a lower-middle-end enchanted item).
