Stairs...

I have found stairs, and yet, I seem unable to ascend, or descend, no matter what I do, am i missing a button or what?

I tried two diffrent staircases, one in the town which i beleived led to the sewers and on in a castle that went upwards. halp?

Did you read the keybindings section of the help? The commands for up and down are > and <

If there's an NPC standing on the exact spot you're trying to climb up/down to, then you'll be unable to climb until you're sitting on the ground ("s").
