So I found a temple. Can I somehow join that religion and worship the diety?

Talk to a certain npc in the temple and ask to join. from there you can speak to the Gods from anywhere, but they dont respond.

Ask him for a quest, I think he accepts you into the order when you simply ask to help them.

nope. doesnt work like that anymore. I tried to talk one priest (flashy green guy in a temple) and he said that im not cool enough yet and that his followers might have a question for me.
Did like five quests given from that town and he still says the same thing

In my experience you have to kill a megabeast before a priest will give you any quests.

Ask for your surroundings frequently, you don't need a quest to find and kill one

They die out during world gen very often in this version. Make it shorter and check in legends before you start playing.
