Here's a basic rundown of the base classes. There's Prestige Classes too. :3

Noble/Team leaders and buffers, Party Face
Scout/Does scouting and sneaky stuff, good at evasion. Bonuses to bartering and fighting in terrain
Scoundrel/Pretty much Rouges, do the sneak attacks, relies on luck. Bonuses to computer use and fighting in space.
Jedi/Melee Spec, Tank, Forcey Powers
Soldier/Ranged Spec, Tank, pew pew

Note, there's a good amount of overlap between 'assigned' roles-so, aside from soldier and Jedi, which are mostly combat oriented, the rest of the classes have generous skill points, and the ability to train up most of the useful technical skills.

Alrighty, tweaking some things and then I'll update the OP with rules for character creation, house rules that are in effect, and a list of players currently in the game (and a replacement queue, which if I'm not mistaken will currently be empty).

I'll PM everyone a link to the pdf file, and begin asking questions privately with everyone to develop a backstory and figure out what kind of game and character you want to play.  I'm off work tomorrow and I'd like to spend most of it working on the initial session, so please try to respond as quickly as possible during the day with your answers!  Even though I haven't PMed anyone yet, be thinking of what you want out of the game now so you'll be ready.  If all goes well, we should start play this monday!

All right. Questions!

I might be missing it somewhere, but what level are we starting at?

Also, what if you have two character ideas, but don't know what side we're playing on yet? It'd be a bit weird if I created my rebel freedom fighter, and Taricus wants to play a torture Droid.  ???

For the record, I'm fine with playing either side. Neutral is possible, but I haven't thought up a character concept for that.

I think we're picking faction by general consensus; I was kind of hoping to be an Imperial Scoundrel among Rebels but if everybody picks Imperial then I'll just be a Rebel Scoundrel among Imperials. :P So Taricus, you're playing a Soldier? (Also it might be a good idea for everyone to state faction preference here. I've already noted my contrary one. ^^^)

@Xard: I was thinking a scout for my char as well. But I could easily go noble, especially if we play Darkside. Also, making my char the medic, most likely.

Right now we'll be starting at level 1.

If you've got multiple concepts for a character, go ahead and tell me all of them and explain which one you'd play depending on which side the game is on.  Unless the majority of players are neutral or Imperial, the game will be a Rebel game (with imperial players being spies, and neutrals being in it for the money).  If the game is evenly spread out among Rebel and Imperial and neutral players, that will be the trickiest setup.

Also, if we're sticking with 1st levels, I may need to reconsider backstory a bit.
