Just throwing in a vote for 2012 - as someone who plays vigorously, burns out, and checks back in approximately annually, I think 2010 and 2012 make a lot of sense - actual revision numbers are fine if you're involved in the community or watch the development very closely, but I think quite a lot of players will forget what those numbers mean between the windows where they play a lot.
