Drained of blood in the middle of a dining room WTF?!

Okay I had a dwarf die in the middle of a crowded dining room by being drained of all his blood, he was then missing for a week before someone noticed his body IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DINING ROOM. How is this even possible?!

They're dwarves.  What do you expect them to do?  Really, people are giving vampires too much credit in all this.  "Oh he's immortal he shouldn't blame deaths on a cavy" and whatnot.  They're still dwarves, and dwarves will step over corpses so long as they're busy going somewhere.
