12 is my longest lasting fort.  It became pretty routine after a while, and even though the sieges were still train wrecks I had enough adamantine to arm and armor a 30-strong militia that I just spammed the enemy with.  Replace losses with new migrants and I was done.

The fort would probably have died to a FB, which I intentionally left paths into the fort for.  I just got bored with it and retired it.

Current fort is 8 years old and doing far better, only 2 deaths so far.  I'll probably take it for a while before I get bored with it and retire it too.
