"Safe" evil cloud?
« on: March 17, 2012, 01:00:24 am »

Hi guys.

I don't know much about evil clouds (other than one that caused my adventurer to pass out repeatedly), but I heard they can cause a myriad of random symptoms. I encountered one without any immediate symptoms, though. In fact, I tried to stay in the cloud as much as possible to see what might happen, but the cloud seemed to have no effect on my adventurer. Can evil clouds cause any delayed or invisible effects? Also, I noticed that my adventurer was covered in evil cloud coatings last time, but this one didn't leave any. Is this related to the symptoms as well?

Those coatings dont do anything, its just like blood covering.
Delayed symptomes can happen tough.

Well the one thing the coatings do is transmit the syndrome to anything you strike with a coated thing.

One extremely dangerous theoretical use of this would be a husk adventurer covered in dust that causes extreme pain. It would not hurt him, but as soon as he punches someone they experience the syndrome.

It is said knowledge is like a foul-smelling herb. It must be cooked well and thoroughly with experience to make it palatable. A young scholar's knowledge is therefore not only worthless but disgusting. -- In Dwarf Fortress you have another paradigm. Gather as much of that smelly herb as you can and toss it at your enemy, fracturing his skull through the +capybara man leather cap+.

Throw your weapon into the cloud, let it get covered in rotting dust, then have fun.

The only one I found so far caused blistering. I would have weaponized it, but I couldn't find a way to get it onto people without ripping their clothes off.

This is a problem why, exactly?

That sounds pretty fun. I guess that adventurer won't live long enough to see that happen though.

Speaking of coatings, I wonder if I could cover my weapon in these coatings so I can turn whomever I strike into husks and zombies, instead of infecting them with deadly diseases?
