First Earth, online wilderness survival in a sandbox world
« on: March 18, 2012, 01:26:01 pm »

Stumbled onto this little gem while browsing H&H forums. The game is currently in alpha testing, with a forum thread recruiting more people. It's going to include crafting, free explorationg, building and so forth, like any decent survival sim. Oh, and it's online. Here's the first dev video showing off the landscape and a short description of how the terrain is going to work and here's the signup thread.

Since there are no screenshots on the site, I ripped a couple from the video:

P.S.: If... actually whom am I kidding, when signing up, please mention that you were invited by me. Maybe that'll net me a spot faster. :D

Hopefully modable for some awesome post-apocalyptic survival.

Doubtful, since it appears to be an MMO of sorts.

Love that. anyway, I'll signing up. Perhaps we, the dwarves of Bay12, shall create fortresses as we always do.

If this turns out to be a prehistoric man simulator, count me in.

Just going off the video, there's not enough information for me. Interested though.

I'm interested in how this could pan out. Also, how much we can actually experiment with creating items. Like say, I want to create a sword made of gold. While it wouldn't be functional, it's more of just curiosity of if we can make things that are ridiculous. Or even wooden armor.

Reading some comments on their forums, someone suggested being able to make cave paintings and build standing stones and megaliths. Sounds pretty damn awesome if you ask me.

I would be definitely down for a Bay12 Dwarfdom. Have an empire based in the mountains, running deep into the ground. It'd be great strategically and economically!
