Life does work that way. I just went to a BBQ down the beach with a well-stacked princess. The mission was "Bring food, drink and stuff to eat with." Mission complete, random experience reward, I am now still at level 1. I don't know what level 2 is like, but neither do I want to.

Well-stacked princesses are always better than poorly-stacked quotes.

Oh, and there's a game called Starbound that is meant to be getting a "director mode" after release. 2d-side-scrolling space exploration game, graphics by the Terrarium guy with a new company. Looks very promising, even without the wizard mode. Procedural generation for worlds, weapons and stuff.

I'm fairly sure that Battle For Wesnoth has something like what you want somewhere in the addons.

Of course, then you need to fight the RNG in close quarters combat.

Derm would be a Half-Minute Hero boss. YOU HAVE 30 SECONDS TO FUCK HIM UP OR HE DOES IT TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!

But uh, on topic, the only game I know of with a wizard mode is nethack, not counting games with a dev console as those tend to have absurd numbers of commands to muck about with.

Umm, typo. The guy is an artist from Terraria.

Quite different graphic styles those two.
