Build a grid of floor grates above the entire city. Draft a squadron of masons and bomb the crap out of the city with falling constructed walls.

Can you destroy the houses by deconstructing them? Deconstruct the houses/castle and build a fist in the sky that will send the wrath of Armok unto the unworthy peasants

perhaps showing the barbaric humans proper stone architecture will enlighten them and assist us in the slaughter of the unenlightenable (elves)

if they aren't doing one of the above, well a magma flood a day keeps the forgoten beasts away

The non-magma-safe ones at least

At last the tall ones must bend over and take it from dwarven masters.

Might need to kill the keep's defenders before the dwarven elite can move in though.

One massive, murderous cave in. The entire town. Kill them all, loot their crap, build beneath the rubble.

It'll make those bloody elves think twice about threatening you for chopping down trees.

The humans deserve nothing the elves do.

The humans are prefectly happy with tree killing for no good reason. They craft thier arms and armor from metal. They'd probably do all thier metalworking with magma if they knew how to make the damn smelters and forges.

Think of them a simple aboveground dwelling cousins of dwarves. Really only the soldiers will have a problem with the invading dwarves. Plus they'll make great meatshields!

Sigh.
It was a failure. My seven dwarves got insta raped by 100+ hostile merchants. However, I abandoned before they all died, and found something interesting:

They're still there.

Tried to reembark with military gear. They didn't even pick up their steel weapons and armor, but they took a hell of a lot of merchants and lye makers with them.
