So, 914.

You put in a weapon on rough, you get a bar of whatever material it was made of back.
You put it in on coarse, I don't know and ideas would be appreciated. Maybe a random tool?
You put it in on 1:1, and you get another random weapon made of the same material.
You put it in on fine, and you get... a random steel weapon, maybe? Random telekill weapon?
You put it in on very fine and [DATA EXPUNGED].

How about:
For Rough - an appropriate ore
For Coarse - a bar of the metal
For 1:1 - another item of same material
For Fine - If you could improve quality, that'd be great. I only know how to make the next item have high quality though (temp skill boost etc.) Perhaps there's some better weapons that are generally unavailable, so it makes one from that pool?
For Very Fine - a cloud of vapour that permanently either gives the dwarf a bodypart of that metal (skin/bones: useful. Other parts, such as nails: not so) or transforms the dwarf into a statue of that material.

Rough is kinda hard to do. You'd have to make a ton of redundant reactions just to turn iron back into hematite, although the idea is nice.

Iron boulder rock-fall traps, anyone?

Would it be possible to toss dead bodies into SCP-914?

EDIT:
Screwing around with the machine and agriculture:
Code: [Select]
SUPPLY: 6x Plump Helmets
INPUT: 1x Plump Helmet on each setting (Twice on Coarse, as notes point out).

SETTING: Rough
OUTPUT: 4x Plump Helmet Spawn

SETTING: Coarse
OUTPUT: 1x Plump Helmet Roast

SETTING: Coarse
OUTPUT: 1x Dwarven Wine
NOTES: The second test resulted in a complete meal. Overall, the meal was rather standard quality.

SETTING: 1:1
OUTPUT: 1x Dimple Cup

SETTING: Fine
OUTPUT: 1x Tower Cap Log
NOTES: Cheap wood supply.

SETTING: Very Fine
OUTPUT: 1x Plump Helmet Man
NOTES: As I've once heard, "Those poor delicious bastards."

Better re-read the 914 test logs. Not a good idea to put dead bodies in it. Unless you like the possibility of !!!--FUN--!!!

I calculated the odds of it working versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid, and decide to have fun anyway by willfully ignoring the warning. I'm now the proud owner of a Necromancer's tower, though I have sealed my door shut now.

Okay.

So, the very fine results are mostly jokes with a chance of disaster. However, I've already put so much into 914's reactions that I've made so far that the next version will be long coming >_>

Let's just say that next version will have to include the following:

* A full system of new armor and materials to go along with that.
* Guns and such.
* Agents, Researchers, Class Ds, hell, maybe even senior staff. Every wanted to name a guy Strelnikov and have him single-handedly take down invasions? It may be possible!
* SCP-076-2. (076-1 is a bit more of a hassle).

I'm thinking that SCP-439 could be a good idea, too.

Wharglebargle.

I am currently working on 914's interactions with boulders.

Currently, the fine reaction for boulders and 914 will put the boulder into it's two largest constituents by moles. Naturally, this means that I have to mod in oxygen, arsenic and chlorine and that I now have to bring in my other modded metals. Also, I have to add two different versions of every metal to the game AND edit all the rocks and metals so that they have the material reaction products necessary for this.

I feel like 914 really shouldn't have been my second SCP.

EDIT: Add boron to the list.

EDIT 2: And potassium, and selenium...

So, is there going to be a "regular" human faction that will be friendly with you, along with the other sorts of antagonistic groups occasionaly mentioned for !!fun!!?

Also, Senior Staff should be actual civ postions, lest we have baby senior staff members running around. :P

Yeah, it'll be an unlimited position that only certain castes will be able to hold.

To be exact, the castes that aren't D-class.

EDIT:

Why are most of these things nigh-immortal? It seems like having a fort besieged by one unstoppable monster after another would get..old, y'know?
