So, IC has beer now.

Edit: Oh, did I mention? We can be even truer to our Dwarven heritage and make stone mugs as well now.

Posting to keep an eye out for dwarfy technic builds.
Edited post! New and improved with content!

After strip mining at level 16 and under with the catalytic lens, I decided automation would be a better way to charge my klein stars.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I made eight mk3 energy collector flowers, each powering an energy condenser set to produce diamonds. Then I figured out it still required manual intervention, so I added logistics pipes (the ones you can actually see are just to keep the pipes looking neat and prevent diamonds from going in the energy collectors). The trapdoor lets me check on how many diamonds it's made in its lifetime. (4500 at last count)

I think that EMC collectors kinda break the game very quickly. A single Mk3 array with 19 watches/pedestals is all it takes really. Set a condenser to make red matter or even pedestals and you have unlimited EMC which means you're almost in creative mode at this point. Sure it takes a while to get there but first, collectors reward you for afking/letting the game run while doing something else, which is bad, and second, they quickly render all mining useless, since you'd only get a fraction of what the array(s) are outputing.

I really liked EE for a couple days until i got to the end of it and then i just started playing with IndustrialCraft instead.

EE is great for single player as you can choose to use it or not and a lot of the lower tier items are great fun. In multiplayer its a race to god mode and then stagnation as you can carry on yourself everything you could ever need and then some.

My Catalytic lens and 60x1000x1000 hole in the ground would beg to differ.

I'd recommend adding ComputerCraft to this list. It might not be a well-known mod yet, but I'd certainly say it should be considered a "major" mod when used with the other present mods, especially Redpower.

Heck, once Frames are out for Redpower, you'd practically NEED Computercraft for the really awesome stuff.

How can computer craft make amazing stuff? The best I can think of is making a fancy timer or password.

You haven't seen the turtle update then.

Presenting: Project World Eater (preview, apparently)

They self-replicate by dumping whatever they dig into a buildcraft/redpower factory.

I have no interest in controlling a swarm of digging bots. But I have a HUGE interest in seeing a enemy like that. A giant ship controlled by AI that sends out swarms of different bots to harass me. Harvesters collect anything of value (dirt gets really valuable when it's all gone), grinder bots attack you, sensory bots coordinate all the others. And to beat them, you have to get into the main ship and fight steel golem strength guards and maybe an even tougher final boss.

I think I'm off to a good start in this world.

This is with the latest Technic Pack devbuild, so it has Extra Biomes XL installed.

I love the new biomes too. I spawned right in the middle of a large Autumn Wood, right next to a Millenaire Village. I haven't strayed too far from that forest.

It'll be a great addition if there's a way of working out a few of the kinks.

Still with the technic pack.
amidoin zepplin mod rite?

Has an ender chest linked to the previously shown collector array (expanded to 2 floors); which now produces red matter for higher energy density, and all the other traveling essentials. The collector array also has a ChunkLoading block to keep the delicious EMC flowing no matter how far from home I get.
