Combat research

So I've been doing a little combat research on my own to determine the most effective weapons and attack types for the current release.  Here are my results so far:

(A) 9 bronze colossi, armed with steel great axes, grand master axe skill
vs
(B) 9 bronze colossi, armed with steel halberds, grand master axe skill

Result:
(B) victorious, 2 losses, with moderate injuries

(A) 9 bronze colossi, armed with steel picks, grand master fighting skill
vs
(B) 9 bronze colossi, armed with steel halberds, grand master fighting skill

Result:
(A) victorious, 1 loss, with heavy injuries
_________

(A) 9 bronze colossi, armed with steel picks, unskilled
vs
(B) 9 bronze colossi, armed with steel halberds, unskilled

Result:
(A) victorious, no losses, with moderate injuries
_________

(A) 9 bronze colossi, armed with steel picks, grand master fighting skill
vs
(B) 9 bronze colossi, armed with steel pikes, grand master fighting skill

Result:
(A) victorious, 1 loss, with heavy injuries

Result:

Result:
(A) victorious, no losses, 2 with heavy injuries, 5 with moderate injuries and 2 with only minor damage

Result:
(A) victorious, no losses, 5 with heavy injuries and 4 with only minor damage

The data is a nice start for some statistical analysis I suppose. But I fail to see how bronze colossi fighting is relevant. If you had dwarves do the fighting on one side, it would be far more useful.

Also, repetition is your friend if you want to do research properly.

Some weapons are a lot more effective against the living then a unliving metalic creature.

Plus some weapons are weakened simply by having them in the hands of NPCs. Halberds are a great example
