Hey, I made North America for you. I also hand-painted copy of it to the Post-Apocalypse mod.

Just paste that into the world_gen.txt file. If you want a longer history, edit the settings.

It's a very large world compared to the earth map, and nearly all of the terrain is in one mass, so you'll see everyone.

I'm pleased with the mountains- they're possible to cross, but difficult. If the hemisphere dice cooperate, then you'll even get appropriate terrain temperatures... if you accept that the apocalypse has done something odd to the climate.

I'm not saying this is 100% accurate. All I'm saying is, when I first tested this, the Gulf of Mexico was named Oilgulf, the Oily Gulf.

Were it you who made it for DF Fallout? Thank you! :) It should help the situation quite a lot. Having a single continent, and the one from Fallout games, is great.

I saw that map, but it was really lumpy. I traced over an elevation map of the us for this one, and then edited it slightly to add details like the bay area. I think Manhattan still sank, unfortunately.

Hold on, I just checked the file. Only about half of it got uploaded. I'm going to fine-tune it tonight and reupload with better terrain and all of the file.

OK, Manhattan's a bit better defined, and all-around the map is better. I've made it rather dry, but the rainfall mapping is still making some places super-jungles. It's still a fair assessment.

Tell me if you'd like it to be something odd- like, say, 100% desert chance, for instance. I can modify it to better suit the mod.

Man, the Mississippi shifted through the red river and came out Texas. 
Actually...is there a way to set rivers or are they all generated on the fly during world-gen?

Ok so i downloaded this a few hours ago, love it. Whats the music you use ingame though, i sometimes open it just to listen to it. I really like it, it's got a great atmosphere to it :P. Still trying to get a working fort though.
