I'm holding off on any kind of spring time celebration until I'm absolutely positive that it isn't going to snow again.

That's the beauty of Texas. I know its not gonna snow, cause it didn't all winter.

Somehow, that fills me more with dread than anticipation.  It's like being told that someone's exhuming your favorite grandparent and they're going to try to make her into a cyborg stripper.

easter ftw!
what's the story with orthodox having a different date for easter? i don't actually know anything about how anyone sets the date for such things...
The Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church split apart in 1054, and they've been following different traditions ever since. Kind of like a passive-aggressive holy war.

Huh, I thought that it always had something to do with the difference in dates between the Julian/Gregorian calendars.

Except that the date of Easter is timed to match the Jewish Passover (which is on the Hebrew lunar calendar, whereas both the Gregorian and Julian are Solar), whose celebrations coincided with the execution of Jesus.

How'd my peeps feel about this day chock full of candy and eggs? I was mostly unavailable all day hanging out with everyone at the house.

It was OK - although no candy was involved on my end. Such things aren't as much fun without the whole family here, and most of us are scattered to the far winds.....
SCRATCH THAT, numerous bags of Starburst jellybeans were obtained yesterday. I LOVE the days after candy-based holidays!!!
