Why do we love this game?

Hey so i was just thinking, we all love this game but what makes it what it DWARF FORTRESS! Now playing for a good amount of time i have a nice list but i want to hear what you guys think! so post away!

To start off i would like to say, the getting trapped on the WRONG side of the wall! it just wouldn't be dwarf fortress with out that! its the little things!
