Solution to a FB syndrome with Heavy Bruising?
« on: April 18, 2012, 08:59:54 pm »

4 of my melee soldiers were affected by the noxious fumes of an FB.  Shortly after the fight they fell over unconscious with Heavy Bruising over all external parts.  They were carted to the hospital and diagnosed with no other injuries, but they won't leave their beds.  They sit  there flashing the X symbol.  It's been about a year and the problem is that they aren't sleeping.  So now they're very drowsy and I'm concerned they'll go insane due to lack of sleep.

They report Soldier as their job even though I removed them from the military some time ago.
Their status is unconscious.
I've tried removing the bed out from underneath two of them but then they just lay on the ground.
They have not gotten worse or better since the initial fight.

Are they just doomed to die from insomnia or is there something I can do to help them?

...unconscious AND drowsy?  Wait what?

All I can think is that the syndrome causes bruising and intense sleepiness, effectively turning anyone affected into a vegetable.  If that's the case, your best bet may be to wash them with flowing water, to wipe any possible contaminants off them and maybe wake them up.  If it's a long-term syndrome though, you're out of luck.

That is, assuming you're right.  You may have misread something.

Why not try breaking their legs?

Or inflicting other similar injuries upon them. It's worth a shot at getting Herr Doktor to fix them up.

Do both by washing them off a cliff!

Come to think of it, all hospitals should have a "seal and flush" option.

They were brought through a bath to enter the hospital and have no contaminants on them or their weapons/armor that I can see.

Suggestions on how to injure them since they don't move of their own accord?  I don't have a convenient cliff in my hospital.  But I am considering adding one to my next hospital because of this.

Upgrade your hospital with a magma purge system for individual patient rooms, and magma-safe furniture. The rooms will be sterile after use.

Funnily enough flushing them around a bit might be the easiest way to hurt them some since it's relatively simple to control. Just don't go crazy smashing them into walls too much or you'll murderise them.

Why bother with them?

Let them be, do nothing

if they die, Great!

if they don't, oh well, its hardly a huge drain on your resources

And if they recover maybe they will be more hardy due to the bruising
