Most difficult to install and i think its somehow broken.
I hope the maker makes it more easy to dl/install wise.

I am running it through steam, my ARMA OA(also tried CO) and yes it says in the main menu that I am running Dayz. Once I enter a server it says I can't play/edit the game because files are deleted. It lists Chenarus and dayz_code and a couple of others. I am at a loss. Clearly I installed it wrong somehow.

edit: Sixupdater shows me a BAD under mod check

The mod is Alpha presently so it is a bit tricky to install. You have to unzip all of the individual files into @Dayz\Addons I learned the hard way myself.

Honestly I don't like how dark it is  at night, it is unnaturally dark and basically unplayable when you're not equipped for it.

I wouldn't bother with Six Updater. Just install it manually.

You need to be running it in CO, otherwise you'll get the charnarus error.

Are the .pbo files inside of arma 2 operation arrowhead/@DayZ/Addons ? There should be 7 .pbo's in there and some bisigns. You could be running the mod correctly but if the files aren't inside the addons folder inside @DayZ then it won't recognize it properly.

EDIT: Here's a list of the PBOs in my @DayZ/Addons folder. Thoug,h I haven't tried running it myself yet, will try it later today.

dayz_equip.pbo
dayz_sfx.pbo
dayz_vehicles.pbo

OK, I am in. The trick was to right click on my OA in Steam and launch CO that way, instead of using the menu in OA to run CO. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's how I got it to work. Thanks for the help. Off to play!

Sorry guys, the limit of my Arma technical expertise is in those instructions that I wrote up, I can't offer anymore help.

Also, I added [B12] to the end of my name. Perhaps we all should for quick recognition?

I had this working last night and enjoyed it (though it was very dark), but I kept getting errors when trying to join today and somehow completely broke my installation while trying to fix them. Oops.

Managed to fix this! Six Updater tried to install some broken mod but adding -noautoupdate to my launch options stopped the immediate crashing.
The game is much more enjoyable during the day, sneaking around the zombies and picking your fights is a bit easier.
Has anyone repaired a car yet? I've found a lot of different pieces but can't find any way to do so, plus each piece is huge.

I'm getting this today! I need to reinstall ARMA II from Steam but I'll be on later.

Yeah, we should find a server together... but I just checked and all of them are full, so that might be hard.

Also, we have a teamspeak but I don't know if you guys wanna use that.

Augh. If I use the shortcut Ozy posted, I get the missing Chernarus error. If I use the launching CO option I get missing Dayz errors. :/

Ok, I just got into a server and the first thing I noticed is that I'm not allowed to have my freelook key set to spacebar for some reason. This has to change, because I keep spinning around instead of looking behind me, resulting in me running straight into zombies chasing me. What the fuck, =/

Okay, got it to work, but I can't see a frigging thing and the Oz servers have too high ping. Any way of getting a DFC zombie server going?
