The first half seemed like there was little direction on the part of the interviewer.  I did like the informality, but there could be more of an agenda without making it too much like the Q&A at the end.

@slothen
Reading your signature link about military:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Getting to the actual point of this thread, I thought the talk was informative, not totally new information, but at least very entertaining. It's interesting to hear about what's considered when delving into a feature and the reasons behind some of the aspects.

EDIT: Put unnecessary off-topic comment into Spoiler. I should've just posted it in the concerning thread, but I've decided against it.

Oddly enough I had just relistened to DF Talk 17 when I decided to check the site and there was this one up.

Aside from Rainseeker sounding quiet and the music being a bit loud over the speech in places it was great.  Nice to hear ThreeToe there too.  I'm sure it'll just take regular updates and getting back into the groove of things, assuming scheduling issues can be worked out.

Hooray for the transcript! Thank you, mallocks!

Was also cool to hear about progress on the ESV, RE: Production Triggers. I'm also intrigued by the comment on how goblin cities don't have to make sense, which will make them good dungeons to explore.
