[Muffy St. Bernard]

Awhile back, one of my popular dwarves died. Now, several years, later, I've noticed that the name of that dwarf flashes frantically in the "relationship" list when I view the relationships of dwarves that knew her. I think it flashes between red and yellow (I don't have the game in front of me).

Does this mean anything in particular, or is it a glitch of some kind? The flashing is so crazy that it LOOKS like something's wrong.

It means their !!ON FIRE!!

Usually dead, it means you should find them and make sure they don't take out your whole fortress in a blaze of glory.

One of the caravan's escort swordsdwarfs leapt into my caldera in the first year...two years later he was still lighting up my units list like a spastic Christmas display.

You bet she was on fire, she went up in a puff of smoke when she dug into a magma pipe (I thought she'd be able to "run for it," but...no...losing is fun!)

I very much doubt she's still burning, though. There was nothing left of her.

Does the units list EVER purge the old deceased creatures?  I've got a list maybe 40 long of dead cave swallowmen I've never seen.
