Hello thready. Howsayou? I'm pretty tired and it's pretty late. That means I maaaaaay be a bit zonked here. Ya grok it? Cool.

"Fuck. Goddamn alien tech. The compression effect isn't universal, it starts where I start. Either that, or voidspace is moving. Most perturbatory. Also, someone randomly appears inside the defenses AND NO ONE CARES? Goddamn people."

Head to the armory and aquire two measuring tapes and some paint. Measure one meter in voidspace, and after marking the start and end in both void and realspace, walk the one meter in voidspace. Measure distance between entry and exit in realspace, and repeat, only with two meters. Yell hello to void again.

((Greeeeaat. Looks like this is only useful for short jumps, as long ones seem unstable.))

Reposted.
So you get your DIY transdimensional jump kit and doodle your mark in real space before galumphing into void space. Something in there makes you stop your test. It's the first thing you've ever seen in this big space closet of infinite zilch. A little yellow point of light, like looking down at a candle flame from atop a 50 story building. It seems very far away, but it's sort of hard to tell in here.

Intuition where the UE is again and then fire either where I think the UE is or where the shot that knocked Stacy down with bolt action rifle. While moving as much as possible behind cover to avoid being hit.
[intuition:4]
So, via completely unexplained intuition that you pulled straight out of your dice based ass, you get the distinct feeling that the shots are coming from fairly low and out in front of you, toward the left. Probably from atop one of the ships that have been moored out in that direction. You can't see the shooter though, and your inclination of where they are isn't strong enough to let you fire blind with any degree of accuracy. You alert the other members of Team Where the fuck are we going? to your revelation before flattening yourself on the ground. Not a lot of cover round here. Just handrails. And handrails ain't shit for cover, 'less you're a snake hovering about 3 feet off the ground.

Skirt the open area, to attempt to stay in cover. Look around extensively, to try and find the whereabouts of the cage.

Hmmm... Wasn't there a guy with drones around? Can't remember if he came here or not. I can imagine they'd be  useful... might get me one someday...

Muse about drones.
You can't skirt the open area! The Open area doesn't wear skirts, it's not part of the open area's sexual identity. Sure, it will wear a thong every now and again, but thats just for the open area's pleasure. Not for you!

Also you can't skirt it because basically everywhere around the cages is open area. To get to the specific cage means moving through the open area with all the other cages.

I will try to hunt for the Urban Executors and the Shadow Walker. Do you have any tips?

Send message, leave for the hunt. Enter bullet time and look around for a place where someone could be watching the spot with the tied civies from a safe distance.

((thanks, this got pretty big pretty quickly, my main memory was faith, oh faith, in fact the first mission was the one that really stood out to me, with useing a corpse as a slip and slide while destroying a gaint robot, and making a shortcut with the PYRAMID OF POWA! and the good old murduring an entire species in cold blood. also, i just want to find the point where piecewise makes the on ship thread so i can mother******* connect the two seperate areas))

Easiest way is just to let them shoot you. Or shoot at you. I assume you'll move. Just go try and look threatening and they'll try something.

The robot ninja and the cat girl head off the the anime convention go shoot a hentai video head off in search of the mysterious cloaked assassins hiding. Renen considers where the bundle of civies could be spied on from. Well. The cage the Sword is in seems like the most obvious place, it's next to the window that looks in on those guys. Or maybe there is a camera somewhere around them thats letting them watch?

Intuit from the angle of the hole where the sniper is and relay his position to the other meatsacks. See if I can see the sniper everywhere, though of course keep in cover.
[intuition: 1+1]

MEATSACK MEATSACK MEATSACK MEATSACK RIGHT IN MY FUCKING FACE! Yeah, your intuition ain't great here mang. Statistical teabag. Universe dragging it right across your terrified face.

I'm in the gangway without a buddy, if you still need one.

Keep standing around, scan the area for hostiles. Do not neglect looking up as well.

Get down from the boxes and set up near the amp user, keep an eye on the cameras

Yeah, yeah, you do that, but hey, you think we should call amp users Roadies? You know...because Amps.

Should plug an electric guitar into an amp....

((Time to further test my (dumb) luck))
Light and throw a few bottle rockets as a distraction. Dash forwards and drag Stacy between some cages, preferably ones with a lot of cover.
Tack ducks low and pulls out his atomic bomb. He holds it over his head, trying to hide under it.

((Alright, I'll just try to role play that I know absolutely nothing, that won't be too hard))

get out of stasis pod and immediately begin throwing up and wiping all the goo off me
"God dammit! I know I've been framed for murder but at least show some respect here, Isn't there any type of goo resistant underpants or something, I'm going to be pissing this stuff for days and even... You know what, screw that, just tell me where everything is and who everyone is, I don't want to get blindsided by a dude trying to kick my shoulder in, also, anybody who I shouldn't be pissing off?"
((That good? Haven't tried doing this yet, so I'm not so good at it.))

>Who are you talking to? There's no one in the room? Great, I unfroze another Poo-brain.

Quote from: Stacy Buttle; to: Away Team
Ayup! Definitely snipers here!

Roll for cover!
There's no real cover around here besides other people. So you just roll back and forth on the pathway like a wiener dog with a drinking problem.

Acknowledge Gorat's arrivial with a nod and a thumbs-up.  Get ready for the next drone sweep, as things still seem to be quiet.  For now.
OMINOUS IMPLICATIONS ABOUT FUTURE FUCK OVERS ACTIVATE!

You give Gorat a very extensive series of high fives and handshakes.

Uh...hmm you get both programs loaded but then...you're not really sure how to proceed from here....
(Not sure which question you're talking about...)
((The question was about having backup contingencies and lockdown procedures.))
"Speaking of contingency plans. Do we have a lockdown procedure? Say, we are aware that there is danger incoming. Could we, I don't know, seal up the hangar doors to prevent anyone from gaining entry? Could we blow the bridge and fight beyond the docking cradle? Can the Sword restock on supplies by other means, i.e. by shuttle, or would we have to rebuild the gangway?

I'm just thinking of all the possible ways this could go wrong. Because I suspect there are now a whole lot more of those than we anticipated.
"

Make both programs capable of running in parallel. Make the drone OS steer the drone to keep the target in view with the first program, and make the second program use directional thrust to approach the target and strafe away from/stop before obstacles in view, "obstacles" defined as "things entirely too close at the speed the drone is moving".

>You can blow the bridge, or I can seal the doors, or we can dig a six foot trench around the whole ship and fill it with gasoline. I'll worry about sealing stuff off if we have to, you can worry about things out there, beyond my control.

[Aux:1+1]
You drool into your helmet.

-Home Team-

...[So I'll just follow what Lenglon said :/]

Patrol with Grate. Speech roll - try to philosophize.
Patrol the ship and all that stuff. Check the labs because I remember Grate wanted to do something there.

{speech:6+1]
You turn to grate.

"We're fucked kid, Fucking fucked. You don't get it, you don't even have the short and curly's  yet, the endless brutality of the world hasn't crushed your spirit. I'm a brain in a tin shell, my boy, my significant other is a psychic toddler in a body made of something we don't understand. And you, the emotional proxy for a child I can no longer have, are basically completely worthless in a fight. It's only a matter of time till you step on a land mine or catch a rocket to the face. And then I'm just gonna lose it. I'm already halfway there."

You start shaking him by the shoulders.

"I RODE A CORPSE GRATE, I RODE IT GOOD! I want to be helpful but people just keep dying! And I keep dying. I'VE DIED MORE TIMES THEN JIM'S GOT TO SECOND BASE!"

You stare into his eyes.

"There's nothing there, kid. It's just black. An eternity of nothing. Can you imagine it? Can you imagine a dark that big? It's a dark older then the universe. Older then God. And it wants us, boy, it wants us."

Hmmm... Wasn't there a guy with drones around? Can't remember if he came here or not. I can imagine they'd be  useful... might get me one someday...

(( What do you want from me, I had class and he gave us 2 & a half hours to update with something  ;D

I am also your medic. Don't make me come medic you. I already have to medic Stacy, assuming the next shot doesn't take off his head.))

Fffffff.......

GET INTO / STAY IN COVER!!!

Deploy three drones from cover, 1 with orders to take a look at the signs to start figuring out where the cage is, and two with orders to scout out where the shot came from, first using any zoom capabilities.

Try to make sure the drone behind us is still active and showing no problems.

[aux:4+1]
Three drones hover up into the air and zoom off northward. The shooter drones pinpoint the area where it came from to a small cluster of cages and ships to the northwest, but you can't see the shooter.

The shippy search one finds a sign that directs you to head left at the first intersection if you want to find the ship.
((PW for clarification does the magnietic feild manipulator only affect magnetic feilds or electromagnectic feilds / force?))
"hehehe silly visible man"
invisible my way to the cage by finding d-662 then moving to the "next" cage of d-663 any people within the immediate vicinity that are not part of the HMRC get to discover the "FUN!!" of being impaled by a hail of high speed metallic shrapnel that is provided curtosey of the MagFM & gangway (not ones we need, like the one to the hangar)

(It's like Magneto powers, basically. You can't fuck with the electromagnentic spectrum or shit.)

[Dex:5+1]
You run forward, bouncing around, clanging against the handrails and generally not being fabulously sneaky. But you manage to get pretty far out in the cage area with out being shot. Well, without being shot yet.

-Home Team-

Wall of flesh? Are you guys trying to call me fat? Gorat jokes towards the ghosts.

Be ready to defend the ship. Use the rifle to focus on attackers. Heat a 1-foot sphere in the center of mass of any attackers that come rather than firing the rifle, though. Be quite repetitive.

Spoiler: Gorat 'Chin' Ivanos (click to show/hide)
They're a wall of flesh you...you...delusional Japanese snail farmer. You...Hockey puck man-dingo. You cucumber wrapped in ham! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM.

-home team-

stand around some more. Scan the area for hostiles and be ready to deflect attacks or return them to sender with my amp. Do not neglect looking up or at my buddy.
You go stand around Michael Moore.

((@ Pyro: great idea, but since PW just said it doesn't work like that, we might have to revise that plan.

Then again, magnetism and electrical phenomena are indeed closely linked, so maybe we'll have to experiment to see what we can do with the magnetic amp. I think PW mainly meant one can't conjure lasers out of thin air. Or maybe we can. This calls for !SCIENCE!))
