Does my Shackle expect me to do stuff while I'm in a wheelchair? If so, maybe I should go bug someone for help.

Somewhat chaotic, in wake of both the incident with the flesh horror (the same one left from the liberation) and attempting to get my officers to do projects that need to be done instead of pet designs (without crushing them completely). Everyone who's not bought a suit should be seeing at least one item soon, if we can make enough of them before the supply run, and there may be a few other things put into the armory as well. Though I am sorry to say you'll have to remind me of your project - I can't recall it at the moment.

Jan hears the mention of a venture into the crew quarters. Stepping up to go, he peeks his head into the room to inquire if he may go as well.

See if I can go on the crew quarters venture as well.

As he finished typing the reply to Simus, another idea came to Maurice's mind.

Just before the Defense of Hephaestus started, I was able to develop substance that, when injected, makes humans regenerate mild to moderate injuries - that is, in the field, without help of any other special equipment. I've already sent our science leader the specifications, but I thought that you, as our general, might also be interested in this development.
I hope that it can be put to good use by ARM.

Hmm. That's very interesting indeed. Maybe it can be used in whatever will be the follow-up to the Mk.II?
Either way, keep me informed on how it develops.

(Sorry no good internet past two days)

Daineal shakes Dubley's hand warmly. "Good to meet you. I need a weapon so I'll gladly take that rifle off your hands."
Complete transaction.
Ask Dubley, "Alright, I do have a question though. I'm understanding, now, what it is we do here. How does one get assigned to missions -or, I suppose, pray not to-, and what does one do in the meantime?"

Ulrich Leland. Location: Rec room. Mission 5 replay, between houses 5 & 6

>Anything worse then kill their parents in front of them? No. They're actually on the ship right now.

"On totally unrelated note, what are rules for messing with other people?"

Keep talking.
Keep spreading party mood with Amp. At least one more, maybe two. Remaining civilians might join the party on their own.
Regardless of result, slip out behind buildings and sneak to near house 8. Keep looking around.

Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)

>What do you mean by "messing with other people"?

You spread the party mood to one more person and are in the midst of spreading it again when someone glasses you over the back of the head with a beer bottle. And you go face first into the dew damp lawn of someone's front yard.

Jim will melt a few of the ones in the middle with his microwave amp to see what happens with the ones who do not get melted.
You melt two and the others back up out of the alley and out of your sight. You switch your cam eye modes and see that they're lurking outside the alley, moving around quickly to be harder to hit. Hmm. They appear to be adapting.

(I actually mostly disable flash. Should look into the same for HTML5.)

"Uhm... Okay..."
Go onto the space internet. Check for typical modern colonization and terraforming procedures.

For the most part the UWM doesn't terraform planets; the colonists sometimes do it but it is too long and expensive a process for the UWM to give much of a shit about. Usually they're not really that involved in colonization anyways; it's mostly down to private interests these days, though they did have an aggressive expansion policy in their early years to aid the reforming of a defensive grid of observation systems and early warning stations. Modern colonization is generally done for the sake of either specific resources (Since the matter conversion systems that some high powered and high tech planets use is far from wide spread and is in fact highly regulated) or for other business related tasks. Often times just to get them out of the jurisdiction areas of some particular government so they can do things that would otherwise be illegal. The frontier in particular is almost completely ungoverned; so private groups can do research out there that is...questionable.

Speak to the Doctor.
"Hey, there.  I have a question that you might find interesting.  Or you might not, I dunno.  Well, essentially I just want to know what would happen if I tried to insert an amp or decomp into my brain.  Would my body reject it?  Actually, would it even be possible to cut through my head far enough to get in there for long enough?"
"Most likely not work. Reject. Perhaps attempt to assimilate." He suddenly cocks his head, as though realizing something and then looks at you. "Attempt to assimilate. Possible. Might survive if biomass maintained. Unknown side effects. Pascal quicksilver use might stabilize..." He looks away and starts tapping on his data pad. "Cross reference Operations Ardent Reverie, Eburnine,  Atavistic Herald, Ivy Crown and Pascal with Beat-all tech systems. Micro robotic artificial bioorganic maintenance protocols..."

"Ok, all my stuff's still here. Good. Maurice, where are you and kitty off too?"

Go to the rec room instead of following Maurice. Look around to see who's there, what they're doing.

((action has been edited))
Watching TV and fucking around on VR by the look of it. I can't remember if there's anyone doing anything overly odd that would draw your attention but I don't believe so...

Oh, we wanted to pay a visit to the non-former-convict population of the ship - the crew, it is. If you want, you could join us... though, honestly, I'm not sure if that's a good idea. The civilians might just lack the fair sense of humor and take offence at your rudeness.

That would be most reasonable, Steve. Establishing good relationships is, after all, one of the main reasons I'd like to go.
Allow us to be escorted.
Moving with Maurice
>Move to the maintenance door and they'll be someone coming to get you momentarily. Try not to be carrying anything threatening or odd. The living catgirl is going to be enough, I believe.

"No, no, I mean, why are people who wear... the suits called Protectorates? It is a strange word that I do not know. Sounds like 'protect', but with a tail at the end, you see? I am sorry that I need to ask. I am not taught about these things," the Chief asks of the Armory Master, careful to speak as correctly as she can.

It is becoming increasingly clear that to obtain a clear answer, the Chief needs to phrase questions in very separate ways. It is perhaps a quirk of this language. She pauses to get an answer to the above question, nodding attentively at whatever the Armory Master replies. Surely either wisdom or terrible rudeness will ensue.

"I see. Does... the stun baton need 'batteries'? It uses electricity, you said?"

If it does, she inquires as to how much they cost and how long they last, in terms of good, hard whacks performed. Is it 20-30 whacks at least?

"Also, I noticed there is a type of armor here. Milno-Plate. How much is a chest plate, back plate and helmet in tokens?" she says, pointing to a part of the armory menu seemingly written in crayon rather than the more official black lettering.

She checks the price of a helmet, a chest plate and a back plate in tokens - should be seven, right, with the helmet costing one, pretty much?

"Before I forget, are there any books of words here? You know, books with many words with explanations added to them."

Are there any dictionaries in book form? Like, an HMRC-themed one? An ordinary one will do as well, obviously, like an Oxford-7 Galactic Compendium of Moon English.
"A protectorate was an old term for an area that was autonomous but protected by another area. The protectorates were named such because they are considered sovereign agents of the UWM; they are not restrained by local laws and take their direction straight from a single high level overseer; and no one, even someone above that overseer, can order them to do otherwise."

"Nah, internal generator. Not a lot of power, but enough to knock unshielded people out, or at least make them very uncomfortable."

"No idea. You'd have to ask Milno, all his stuff was custom."

And that last one is just an attempt to hurt me isn't it?~

Relay Charles'/Empiricist's request for dirt on the UWM to Steve.

>Understood. That should be doable.

Does my Shackle expect me to do stuff while I'm in a wheelchair? If so, maybe I should go bug someone for help.
I forgot all about it, honestly.

It really should have beeped a while ago, but..well, elder gods.

It is currently asking you to amputate a limb. It doesn't say what limb, whose limb or how. It does say, however, that if you don't do it in the next few hours it will amputate one of yours.

Jan hears the mention of a venture into the crew quarters. Stepping up to go, he peeks his head into the room to inquire if he may go as well.

See if I can go on the crew quarters venture as well.
If you'd like. Deposit your weapons somewhere beforehand and join up with Maurice.

((Yeah, it probably would have gone off while I was in a coma. Still, I'd rather remind you of it now instead of trying to use it on mission and then realizing I have no charges and that it now wants me to mutilate and eat somebody for ignoring it for so long.))

To the Med Bay.

"Hey Doc, do you have a saw I could borrow? The Shackle want me to amputate a limb from somebody, but I figured I'd cut one of my legs of and maybe we could reattach it after. Unless you know somebody with superhuman regeneration that wouldn't mind letting me cut something off of them. Or maybe we could get one of the crew members over here. You think Steve would mind?"

"Damn it!" Ulrich doesn't like being suprised. Whoever did that is going down!

Mow 4 seconds worth of laser at the general direction of assailant. If the enemy is still alive, finish it with Kinetic Amp. ((Should be nice blast with synthflesh arms.))
Get into "safety" behind my teammates.

"Oh. Hm. Who is Milno?" the Chief asks. She didn't really know what most of this talk about generators or political autonomy was, or even what the UWM is. But that at least seemed like a question that would get a self-contained answer.

Potentially watch Armory Master fawn in her own way as she answers question.

Also, buy stun baton for 1 token. That'll come in handy for sure.

And a carton of bluesmokes, if it's free. And a lighter or matches as well, if those are also free.

Lead the steadily growing 'Corps embassy to Civilian Crew to the maintenance door. Await the escort.
My, the idea of a visit seems to have attracted more people than I expected. Oh well.
Maurice pet the catgirl behind the ear a little more.
Don't worry. They won't find you threatening, Lyra.
