This is intended to be a list of "simple" english terms.  Meaning that the intent is to bring about a set of words that cover nearly everything, or be used in simple compounds to achieve that.  Words like "Zweihander" and "Halberd" and "Cob" aren't really in that scope.  Even tho they could be used, other words or compounds would be far more appropriate, such as "Two-Hand-Sword", "Pole-Axe" or "Mud-House".

I might actually need to remove some words that fit that pattern, too.

Words I would consider are those that don't have simple compounds in any really common modern language, but are used in already existing DF terminology.  "Blue-Rock" might be good enough to describe Microcline (Or just "Small-Cleave"), or "Black-Glass" for Obsidian.

Also, automatic generation and/or templates aren't really appropriate when considering making it like this, as a "simple english cypher".  Words like "Hammer" can be Nouns or Verbs, some might also be Adjectives, etc.

And I'd love to make a program to go on the internet, grab the definition of the word and somehow construct a set of raw tokens to just make every word work perfectly.  But I'm not a programmer and I have no idea how to do that.  If anyone DOES, please step forward.

Here is A-C Nouns

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I should clarify that I went through each Noun and attempted to keep it's use correct according to English usage.
IE, no 'Mountains-homes of Cat' or anything like that.

@jeoshua: Understood. I thought that all df related words would be a go. I mean, everyone who play DF knows microcline, so it would make sense for dwarves to know and use this word.

@Khalvin: Nice work :)

Here is A-C with Adjective and Nouns. And thx :)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I played with Prefixes. But I'm not sure I understand that tag.
I'm wondering what [STANDARD_VERB] does, any ideas?

The [STANDARD_VERB] tag seems to just go after every verb.  Take bother, for example:

[WORD:BOTHER]
   [VERB:bother:bothers:bothered:bothered:bothering]
      [STANDARD_VERB]

Just place the verb, past tense, singular, plur, et cetera, followed by that tag for magic.

Also, I'm currently downloading the SQL query lexicon from Omega Wiki as well as a SQL query library for Python.  Once that gets done and I get back from a waverunner ride  ;D I'll get to coding on the program.  It should be pretty straightforward to write, it may just take a while to sort through a list more extensive than most dictionaries.  Fortunately, I also have access to a large computing cluster here on campus, so that shouldn't be a problem either.

If anyone has any experience with SQL and wants to give advice or help out, I'd certainly love it.  Oh, and the download site for the database I'm using is http://www.omegawiki.org/Help:Downloading_the_data.

This is a good concept. Later on I'll try to go through some of my old custom mods and post some of the custom words from them.

Well, It's not every Verb.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The above is a sample block taken as group. I thought perhaps it the Tag was for pure Verbs like Ignite and Roast, but Ignite doesn't have the Tag and Glow does.

I got off my lazy butt and searched the forums.
Apparently it relates to whether the Verb can be used as part of a compaound or not.
Understanding this. I move forward towards glory and arthritis...

Is there a finished list of which words are done yet ? Maybe you could update your first post and show the completed works... :)

Going to have to come up with everything in the gameworld which doesn't have a language equivalent.

Heh, if we included the UI elements we could make a dwarven-language UI mod...

Decided to start from the end of the list and work backwards.  Here's U-Y.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This really isn't all that hard, you don't need to be an english major.  Just pull up the wiki for types of phrases, and say the various phrases and see if it works.

For verbs, I had to look up what "past participle" and such meant, but eventually came up with the following phrases you can use to figure out which to do:

eat:eats:ate:eaten:eating

Eat this
He eats this
He ate this
He was eaten by this
He is eating this
