Just helpfully reposting for those who missed the topic in Other Games.

Panzer Pets! Customizable Robots? Random Dungeons? Tactical Combat? PvP and PvE? So much yes.

So yeah, shameless repost of a campaign I want to succeed.

Since it would be a conflict of interest for LD to do this himself, imma go ahead and throw this out there.

Been following the dev blog for that. Looks like it has a lot of potential for a DF-like game, particularly in the sheer depth of the procedural content.

Cult really hits on everything I disliked about Sandboxes and randomised content and seeks to improve them. It is one of the two kickstarters I've been the most tempted in supporting (the only other was Grandroids)

If I somehow get my job this month... There is nothing that will stop me from donating.

I'll certainly be donating to Cult. I think it has huge potential.

The Kickstarter for Cult is officially live now. There's also a thread about it in Other Games for anyone that's interesting.

I doubt (m)any of you remember the old Tex Murphy games, but they were some of the pioneering games of the FMV adventure genre, and some of the few to actually get it right. Anyway, it's coming back, and has a few days left on the kickstarter, and needs more money for some of its stretch goals.

Kickstarter has been doing a lot for adventure games in general, it seems. For instance, the original SpaceQuest creators just got a project funded that's basically a continuation of that.

I'm going to throw this out here too.

I really hope they are at least fair in terms of judging the steriotypes.

The issue with most of those tropes is their frequency more then their use... and wow are those tropes overused.

Then again I am a big fan of Princess Peach when she does something (ignoring Super Princess Peach) then when she is a big load. Though I guess that is why Monkey Island has Elaine.
-For those who don't know who Elaine is. She is the love interest of Guybrush Threepwood (the main character) who spends the majority of the games trying to save or help her... Yet she is so competent that he tends to actually ruin her plots to save the day. In fact the only times she cannot save herself is when you put her in trouble.

That one looks great. And it's already like 1400% funded. Kickstarter sure loves some social justice.

And there are going to be 12 videos now! That's pretty exciting.

The reason I wanted to point it out, and to cheer on its success is because of the massive sexist/racist backlash against it. The internet is a scary place.
