"Elite Crossbowman"
« on: May 18, 2012, 01:14:41 pm »

Has anyone else ever seen an "elite" soldier? She's a lighter colour than normal crossbowmen and has good quality equipment.
When I ask her to join me she says "It is I that would lead you, but I would have no need of your protection"
I've never seen this before, no idea how common it is? Pretty cool!

I've seen elite soldiers a few times, but i find elite bandits way more often.

I guess the best way to find "elite" charters is to have a large world with a long history and lots of civs.

So, the commonness depends on the age of the world, size, and civ number.

Just like adventurers, the first weapon skill they have Legendary skill in, they'll be titled 'Elite' or 'Master' <weaponskill> -- not counting Striking, Kicking, Biting or Misc Obj use, there's no Elite or Master status for those. So that guy is an excellent sharpshooter, which is useful until he runs out of bolts. Artificial Stupidity keeps him from being useful after that.

I always find elite bandits which will either A. Tear me to pieces, or B.Somehow get damaged and go down really easily. I had one adventurer who took down like fourteen elite bandits in his life span (Then he got webbed and eaten by a hill titan spider :()

The tags for Elite Crossbowman, Swordmaster, Hammerlord, etc., are set when you reach 1600 level for the skill.  I think that ends up being master level.  Legendary is at 2000 level for the skill.  First one you get is the one you keep for the rest of the adventurer's life.  (Hey all you Elite Wrestlers!)
