I made an entity for my custom race (that i do have in my sig, but its completely outdated) but when i tried to play them, they did stuff for around 3/4ths of a day. But after that time they seem that have fallen asleep, and i waited. and waited... and waited. They seem to have to sleep forever. Quite literally. So i retired it.
I played some adventure mode in that world, etc etc. then I decided to unretire the fortress. But, while they were awake (I think) They did absolutely nothing.
What did I do wrong? (I did do a hybrid of all the main entities)

Do they have NOSTUN but also still need to sleep? That would be the case.

I think nostun prevents them from falling asleep in the first place.

@Jerry Did you set them to only be active in a particular season/time of day?

Why does this happen though? I do know that sleeping stuns someone, but it shouldn't stun them while sleeping because they are already affected by the unconcious effect. So why the stun?

That would be because when the unconscious counter reaches 0 the stun counter is set to 75 and then the unconscious counter is decreased to -1. This has the effect of creatures just waking up still being slightly impaired. The addition of the NOSTUN tag prevents this exchange, therefore keeping the unit in an unconscious state.

Can you define different hair stylings than the standard neatly combed, double braids, etc. or is it hard coded?

Is there any way to have a sentient creature periodically drop an item that can be harvested and used in reactions without using shearing/milking/nest boxes?

Basically can material produced by secretions or interactions be gathered from the ground and used in reactions?

I don't know how to do that, if I remember correctly, they won't rest in winter, nor on any month

I don't know how to do that, if I remember correctly, they won't rest in winter, nor on any month

Don't worry about this- it was only a guess, and I don't even know if it affects civilized creatures.
