Dwarf Fortress Story Sharing Time!!!!

Hi,

I have recently got dwarf fortress and watched a couple of tutorial videos. I started my first fortress a couple days ago and so far it is going pretty smoothly. However I know that this game is very random and everyone else has had or is having a different experience than me and I decided to start a thread where people can just share their experiences and stories.
