Great Roman-Era game
« on: May 28, 2012, 08:02:55 pm »

Excellent game of chariot races in the Roman period

For now, the game is free, but soon will have multiplayer and then it will pay...

Enjoy!!

http://www.turnopia.com/

QVADRIGA is a turn based tactical game of chariot racing in ancient roman circus, where player takes control of a chariot team. A race at the circus lasts three laps. The quadrigas run through an oval track divided by a center piece called spina. The lower straight is called mainstretch, upper straight is the backstretch. The finish line is located at the end of the backstretch. At this place of the spina there are three golden dolphins: one dolphin drops every time the leader cross the finish line, completing a lap. At the opposite side of the spina there are three golden eggs which drops when leader ends the mainstretch: they count half laps.

After that, race starts. Use mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Player controls one auriga (charioteer) by choosing one order every ten seconds turn. Between turns, action is frozen in an order phase, waiting for your next command while orders are displayed in front of your quadriga. It is possible to consult any team information and their evolution at any order phase by passing mouse over them:

You really gotta work on not sounding like a Spambot, man. This is twice now that you've confused people.

It does look like a spampost but the game is pretty cool.  It'll be really cool with multiplayer.

Spampost??????  ::)
Spambot.

As in a robot that scours the web and gives candy to children so they would get in its van. The candy in this case being a metaphor for links, children are a metaphor for google, and the van means the site being linked to.

I hope this was helpful.

OMG Spampost is a post made by a spambot ...  ::)

I see it is useless trying to make known any game in this community  ::)

Your approach is just lacking. People that drop links and a sentence or two often look like spambots around here.

Its not useless, you just need to do so by posting more than 3 lines about it. Maybe discuss the game a bit, offer some screenshots. Your post looks like a spambot advertising a game. :P

The problem is we have a lot of spambots drive by.

No, but just posting generic-sounding "This game is great!" and a link does seem kinda suspicious. Wouldn't be so suspect if you had, for example, specifics about the gameplay, screenshots, etc.

EDIT: Multi-ninja'ed.

You just need to elaborate more on what you're posting, spambots are completely capable of filling their posts with tons of non spoiler'd images using simple IMG code. Try tell us how the game works, which features are the most interesting in your opinion, etc.

Any forum as big as this one will automatically brand you a spambot if most of your posts are like "this game is awesome, play it! [url]". The fact you don't use an avatar/signature/avatar text also raises suspicion since spambots almost never use them.

Now that you've got Bay Watcher people won't be as quick to assume you're a bot.  Back in the day Toady would edit spambot posts to remove their links and make them hilarious, so I guess it's kind of a tradition around here to assume everything's a spambot and post a million times anyway (Even though that just encourages the spambots), even though he hasn't done that in years.
