You don't be near a tower to be attacked, only near a camp or something that has a necro. They just killed the awesome above ground village I was building, it was fun D:

I go through long periods of not playing until certain features are released.  I think DF is too easy once a fort gets started.

As for enemies drilling through walls, I like this!  It makes sense for them to be able to do so!  Design your forts with massive ravines that enemies must bridge over, while being pelted with arrows.  Also set their bridges on fire.  Also them.  With oil.  Burning oil.

Do you even know HOW HARD it is to burn oil? IT'S HARD. At least, outside of a heavily industrial environment.

Anyway, if DF became a monthly subscription game I would probably stop. Not like it ever would become that, but I would.
Also if the aforementioned stupid-complexity was added in. As in, complexity that is just there to be complex.

It's not hard at all.  It takes one red mana and one colorless.  It also has a flashback cost of one white and three colorless.  Hell, you could burn oil twice in a turn if you wanted.

But you never see a movie where a terrible coal plant accident causes a horrible devastation, do you? Nope, everyone seems to think that nuclear plants get their energy by smacking live atomic warheads all day or something.
