So I got everything together for 34.10, embarked, did some stuff, and saved. Went to change keybindings and decided, why not change colors too? I mean it only affects animals and stuff in graphics packs, right?

...eh...wrong...the colors are really gnarish and reloaded didn't seem to help. Any way to fix short of abandoning and reclaiming (or would that not work either).

The default color scheme numbers can be found on the wiki here, along with several other examples of player defined schemes. Also I generally find it easier to change keybindings in the in-game menu then in the text documents.

It doesn't work. The main menu switched fine, but the save file is still using the scheme I switched too.

Weird. You did fully quit DF before editing the file and then fully restarted it after you had saved your changes and closed the text document right?

I don't have a clue what's going wrong then. Sounds like you might have run into some type of weird bug or something like that.

What did you do to change the colors?

Change the colors file in the init. Copy pasted from a page on the wiki.

Re-download. It's probably the easiest option. Just remember to keep the one you modified, the saves might not be compatible.

Changing colors.txt back should change the interface in the game. That stuff isn't stored in the save directories.

Yeah, re-downloading and keeping your saves is probably the best option.

Yeah it took me about five mins to redistribute the files and stuff.
