Weapon Damage/Shattering and Effects on combat
« on: August 28, 2012, 04:42:49 pm »

I was checking out the weapon stuff and I suddenly wondered if anyone has tested out this idea before. Basically I was wondering if modded weapons could accumulate damage, possibly even shattering on impact. And if so...would the shattering cause damage? It would be interesting to create something like glass crossbow bolts that would pierce an enemy and shatter inside them, kind of a medieval version of hollow point rounds. Or it could even be used to shatter BEFORE hitting an enemy, and use it similar to a shotgun. So has anyone ever tested this theory before?

Indeed, I do this.

As far as I known none of that is possible.

The trap component items have a variable for number of hits per strike, but wieldable weapons do not. Which is sad because otherwise the shotgun idea would be practical.

No, not at all. Not even remotely. If something doesn't happen at all in vanilla, like shattering of any kind, it can't be modded in.
