That's good. New shoes are always nice, unless you have to break them in.

funny that I would notice this. I had plans to exercise over the summer holidays to remove this flab I've been gathering over the years.

so, six weeks of exercise? better get those earphones I was wanting... or maybe hook the TV up to a treadmill. it'll only be on so long as I exercise.

Stepped on the scale today to the pleasant surprise of seeing the needle dip below 180 for the first time in a long time. Maybe 178-180 at the moment depending on what's occupying my stomach at the moment.

Now calm down belly, don't get excited and jump off too fast now.

It was a very hot day today, but it rained and made everything better so I was able to do my routine on schedule today. What a happy occasion.

I just spent a couple days swimming in Lake Michigan and boy are my arms is my whole body tired.

Gonna have to investigate a gym membership with a pool. I generally have to make myself work out, but man do I like swimming.

I'm always surprised by how quickly the weeks are passing.

I think I'm atleast fit enough to jog everyday now, and do my pushups and situps and other things every other day.

I'll post another picture of me tomorrow.

Still, you're giving me hope my friend. I get real down sometimes, and its nice to know there's someone out there bettering themselves despite similar feelings of depression. :) Good job, Josh.

Thank you Hans. You're such a nice guy to empathize with me. I know you can achieve the things you want in life as well.

Ok, so I managed some half-decent lighting by strategically taking the picture with light from the setting sun pouring through my window, rather than rely on my ceiling light:

I do say that I look and feel leaner now. I'm not sure my eating has been the healthiest lately, only eating one or two small meals a day. I remember yesterday I had two bananas, two slices of banana bread, two mouthfuls of orange juice, and a liter of water~. Today, was the remaining two slices of banana bread, and a single chicken sanwich w/ about a pint of OJ, and I think I'm good for the rest of the day.

Today's meal: a single bowl of macaroni and a can of Madrina's cold coffee. I had never had canned cold coffee before, it's quite the treat.

I've been feeling very unmotivated and weak for the last 2 or 3 days. One may be causing the other, I'm not sure. I will try to persevere through the more strenuous parts of my exercise regardless.

Does anyone have any personal recommendations for music to get you pumped up? My own collection of music is only so large, and growing stale.

What do you listen to in general, first of all? I wouldn't want to recommend a bunch of stuff you already listen to. :P

Generally I listen to things like Iron Maiden, Dragonforce, Falconer, Blind Guardian, and an assortment of older rock songs from the eighties and nineties.

Being the anime fan that I am, I also have the OST of several series that have badass, motivating soundtracks like Hokuto No Ken's which is filled with light but strong leading guitar pieces with emotionally tense vocals, or that of Godannar which is filled to bursting with uplifting guitar solos and prominent, inspiring trumpet pieces. Though I will concede that there's additional enjoyment extracted from them in that they remind me of the many manly and intense moments of their respective shows and that makes listening to them much better than if I were simply listening to them without knowing the source material at all.

I try to alternate from one thing to the next to avoid things getting redundant, though adding some stuff wouldn't hurt.

Hmm. You certainly like your power metal. :) I don't know if it runs to your particular tastes, but just disregard any suggestions I make that you know you dislike. Or all of them, whichever. :P

Hollywood Undead; certain songs at least, such as City. City, Undead, and Young are all pretty motivational for me.

Rob Zombie; More Human than Human, Feel So Numb.

Drowning Pool; Sinner, Bodies, pretty much any track from the album Sinner really.

Disturbed; Indestructible very specifically, probably a few others I haven't heard in forever.

I'll try and look through youtube for awhile and see if I can find something more like what you already listen to than what I suggested. My songs are a bit of a different genre.

I feel I wasn't as diligent this week as the ones before. I took a sizable break after my partial breakdown, which led to me walking a solid nine miles through a small town and the countryside at night, four of those miles in a heavy downpour. My legs and feet hurt badly after that so I took a few days to rest.
