After a very long-overdue unveiling, I can finally bring you:

Ragnarok Chapter 5

Pretty fancy, right? Ragnarok is a role-playing MC server with a stalwart dedication to generating good story. It's an amazing server with fantastic admins, engaging lore, and an incredibly versatile skill system. The minimum age to join the server is 16 years old, with a little leeway involved for very good apps. As a result, the whole server-base is very mature and welcomes new role players with open arms (sometimes literally.)

Ragnarok itself is a "Mythpunk" world where all forms of magic and technology exist, compete and co-operate together. If you wondering what we mean by "Mythpunk" it's basically a combination of Steam and Diesel punk with a mythological background. So, it's a world that has evolved from the classical stories of myth and legend (norse religion, greek myth, fairytales, medieval fantasy, etc) into a world around the time of the industrial revolution, with the added bonus of magic and mythological creatures to accelerate and develop various strange and imaginative branches of industry and technology.

Chapter 5 is finally up and running, and the RP is basically the best thing to ever hit minecraft. If you want to be apart of an engaging story, this is the server for you. If you have any questions about the server AT ALL, feel free to ask in this thread or the thread linked above.

It runs on vanilla; all you really need to have is the texture pack which reskins certain items to be useful in RP. The texture pack, however, is 32-bit and requires MCPatcher to run.

Both of these are available for download in the first post of the thread I linked in the OP. It's incredibly easy and can be done in minutes.

How does the server handle building? is it claim a plot of land style, where only you can edit blocks on your claim, or wild west build anywhere and hope you can defend/hide it? Is the map infinite? If so are you allowed to go be a hermit in the mountains and come to town when you need to trade?

Server building is very freebased, but griefing is a MASSIVE no-no. There are set blocks you may break in RP, and you must always steal using RP(though most chests are locked.)
You are certainly allowed to go hermit and travel as far as you'd like. However admins like to discourage this because it makes RPing harder for you.

In game, Characters and acting>real material gain, so you rarely will ever be robbed just for the sake of taking all your gold, and no character currently on the server is like that yet.

You can't just mosey into somebody's house when they aren't there and take all their stuff. They have to actually be there and you have to trick them out of it, or at the very least leave signs that generate RP by lieu of letting them try to find you.

I also think that, in real life, you would wait until someone leaves, not just waltz in whilst someone is cooking.
