Eh, my motivation to create avatars has waned though I can easily find one for you. Also how comes not one person has bothered to explore all the tunnels I made below the fortress? There's iron ore if you go deep enough  :D

Meh, I'm actually not that interested. Also, if I did get an avatar, I'd prefer it to be a high-quality Bay12 drawing.

also because it's probably overrun with zombies...

Yeah.  Thus why I didn't make a trap.  In it's current state the fortress didn't need a trap, the whole damn fortress is a trap.

I think the actual mining tunnels are mostly clear, it's just there's a few dozen of them directly below and above. In relation to hacking it's the only metal available on the entire map, you'd be trolling yourself by not mining it  :P

Eh, only metal that can be used for anything, nickel is pretty useless.

Can't you make doors and bridges and floodgates and (pause for breath) hatches and statues and tables and thrones and crafts and goblets (pfb) and toys and instruments and stuff out of nickel?

Didn't think that far ahead, I was just going along the line that a dwarfen fortress needs forges pumping out weapons and armour to be worthy of a beard.

Forging weapons?  Real dwarves get their gear from the corpses of goblins they beat to death.

ive gotten in the habit of replacing my chief medical dwarf as soon as he gains any notable skill in diagnosis.
It's really funny watching them do unnecessary surgery because of a wrong diagnosis.
the conditions were bad enough to turn a dwarf who didn't care about anything mad, that's pretty hardcore.

No, real dwarves MELT the goblin iron, and reforge it into fine dwarven steel!

Can you make me an avatar that's the Bionicle Tahu with a Dwarf face? Pretty please with minced dwarven wine on top?
