You are an Eldritch Abomination
« on: June 12, 2012, 11:09:36 am »

This feeling of unease has been growing for millennia.  You left the world in a state of perfection, but the vague notion that things may have gone awry fills your slumbering thoughts.

You begin to stir.

Examine self. If we're too horrible to describe, do it in broad sweeps (Humanoid? Tentacles?)

You open your eyes and see nothing but darkness.  You sense things darting around you, but they quickly zoom off.  Then you open your eyes.  The planet has changed almost beyond recognition; the land having split from one neat mass into thousands of smaller pieces, the air now tainted with foul elements and billions upon billions of creatures thrive upon the surface, building, killing, loving and living.  This is wrong.  This cannot possibly be true.  This must not be.

You are small and do not recognise the stars.  Your 'physical' body has mostly gone now, a tiny quantity of rotten flesh can be sensed around and inside the very lowest part of you.

You are tiny and almost powerless.  A few of the things begin warily circling you at a distance, they seem vaguely similar to the creatures who left the ocean before turning into bigger things.  Their minds are small and you sense their fear.

A small disturbance in the water hints at movement far above.

Okay, let's think small:

If we're incorporeal than squishy mammals are hardly a threat. If we can sense billions of the foul things crawling around the surface then we should see if we can sense any weak/likeminded and evil minds to posses.

You begin to glide away from the things, but they swim much faster than you can move.  They don't appear to pose you any danger at present, they seem to be creatures of flesh.

Possession; you used that ability often, back when you were powerful.  You feel a slight tinge of anger at the thought.  How could one fall so low?

You are hungry, but with no need for physical sustenance you are unsure what you hunger for.  The memory of how you used to be is somewhat faint and you struggle to grasp on to it.

Souls... That's what you think it was, right? You ate souls. Eat the souls of the fish! That should be easy, just open and shut.
