Let's Play Diablo 2: LOD
joemoben:
So since I have absolutely nothing to do lately, I have decided that I shall do a Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction screenshot LP.
I've been playing the game for years, but mainly as one class, and I still tend to make very stupid choices the majority of the time. So if you see me doing something stupid: Please tell me.
Spoiler: Game mechanics. Will be added to as needed. (click to show/hide)Now for some game mechanics. Certain weapons or armors can be for specific classes only, such as the katar for the Assassin. Most weapons don't follow those constraints though, such as your average sword or bow.
Certain characters have skills that can make the better at using certain weapons, although they should be fine using weapons outside of their comfort zone.
First off, we shall need a character. No poll, because I don't feel like making one. Here are your choices :
Spoiler: Amazon (click to show/hide)
This is the Amazon. Don't know much about her, beyond that she is ranged. Main weapons: Bow and javelins, javelins being finite while the arrows for the bow are also finite.
Spoiler: Assassin (click to show/hide)
Here we have the Assassin, the dual wielding trap dropping person. Her main weapons are hand to hand stabby objects generally dual wielded although she can also use a shield in a pinch. She can also get combos going that with each successive hit allow for a stronger "Finish" move.
Spoiler: Necromancer (click to show/hide)
Here we have the Necromancer, my personal favorite character. He has a summoning skill tree, the Bone skill tree, and a curses skill tree. Main weapon is a wand, although for some reason I like giving him crossbows.
Spoiler: Barbarian (click to show/hide)
This is the Barbarian, and I only tossed him in so you could see him. I will not be playing as him, because I don't like him for one reason or the other. The only way that I will play him is if the vast majority of you vote for him. He's a melee tanky guy.
Spoiler: Paladin (click to show/hide)
Here we have the Paladin, best in a party because he is mainly an aura guy. His weapons are a sword and shield. One of his unique weapons is a scepter. Can't remember much beyond that at the moment.
Spoiler: Sorceress (click to show/hide)
The Sorceress, A magic spell flinging class that uses staffs. She has the fire, lightning, and ice skill trees.
Spoiler: Druid (click to show/hide)
Here is the druid, a shape-shifting summoning kinda guy. He also has nature spells that can cause tornadoes and stuff. His weapons are virtually anything he can find that's useful. He can also turn into a couple of things, like werebears and werewolves.
And after that we need a name.
Edit: If you have any questions about the game, just ask. I'm mildly versed in Diablo stuff.
IronyOwl:
Curious how a screenshot LP of this will really work, especially since the tougher, and thus generally more interesting, fights are usually pretty frantic.
As for character, really torn. Probably leaning towards Necro or Sorc, though.

My general idea on how to make it work is just take as many screenshots as possible in large battles. An obviously fool proof plan if I do say so may self. :P
Sonlirain:
If i were to make a LP of D2 i'd play as a Summon Necro... just because how affing effortless this bastich is.
Upsides:
Plenty of time to take screenshots since once you get a army going you don't really have to do anything aside of casting curses and replacing any losses since your skellies usually get the beating for you.
Bigass battles between 2 armies (especially later).
Downsides:
Boring as heck.

Funnily enough, that's how I normally play necro, because I'm a pansy and like things to fight for me.
Edit: Are the pictures showing up for everyone? I know a lot of people have problems with them, so I'd like to check, just in case.
