Are hostile creatures heal themselves
« on: January 13, 2015, 05:31:16 pm »

Hi all!

Are hostile creatures heal themselves over time? For example, I have the following giant cave spider:

Will he ever heal or not?

Thanks in advance.

Over time all wounds that can heal will.

I think they do, but you don't need to worry about it if the spider has acces to a map edge, because it will take some time to heal. It'll probably leave before it's healed. I think other creatures can get infections too, so it might infect and kill the creature.

They are... and They not, answer is complex.

Cuts will heal, if they will not bleed to death and can be infected. Bruises will heal too. Broken bones/parts... will not, because They need to be seted, but GCS feel no pain, so... he just can not use this leg.

Chitin in arthropods like spiders, crabs, and other insects takes the place of bones so they need to be set in a splint or cast before they heal. Since chitin is external, it tends to get smashed the instant any blow lands and tear up the fat underneath unlike bones which are cushioned by skin, fat and muscle.

I can confirm prisoners healing their broken bones and chitin while in captivity without medical treatment.
