Do goblins drown?

I trapped a goblin siege party in a flooding corridor, blocked on either side by drawbridges. The water is up to 7/7 and the goblins appear to be doing fine. Do goblins ever drown in the latest version?

What you have there is sum aquatic gobbo critters.
But uh, yeah, they should drown. Give em time to breathe in the water.

Does it matter if the hallway doesn't have a ceiling? It's actually a channel that's open at the top.
Gaulgath:
Yes, it does matter. It gives them the opportunity to swim to fresh air and safety.
Tahin:
In my experience, if a creature gets up to novice swimming, it won't ever drown as long as there is air above, but it might be incapable of getting out. Got marksdwarves?
