Getting random seed used in created world.

So if you created a world and forgot to note down the (random) seed used is there anywhere it is recorded?

If you enter Legends Mode and press [p], the world gen info is put in your DF folder as as several text files. Look at the top of the "[save folder name]-world_gen_param" file for your seeds. You can get the same file from fortress mode by Esc then "Export Local Image". Wiki info.
