"Nothing left to fire." I have a bow & arrows?
« on: August 01, 2012, 12:50:44 pm »

Hello, DF Community!

I do not know whether or not this is a bug, but whenever I try to utilize arrows salvaged from a corpse for use by my longbow, it says that there is "Nothing left to fire" even though I have at least 33 arrows. (And yes, I am using a bow- not a crossbow.) Is this a bug, or is there some funky sequence of buttons one has to painstakingly follow in order to select said arrows for usage?

The arrows are in a quiver, correct?

Yes. :/ They are in the damned quiver, and /Yes/ I am using a bow.

Are you wearing the quiver? Are you wielding the bow as your primary weapon (i.e. nothing else in that hand)?

It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Mamamia! Thank you! -Slaps myself for not changing out the weapon- Oh why did I forget to remove that spear...

Thank you, lads. I am something of an intermediate newbie right now.... I thank you all for your assistance.

Throwing the arrows is way better because you don't have the time delay between shots!

The difference between shooting and throwing darts, bolts and arrows is that shooting is more powerful and uses the edge 100% of the time... Plus throwing might be seen as exploity by some :P

Thrown arrows only hit with the point, as a shot arrow can only hit by the point. swords may hit with the tip, the blade, or the flat and pommel. so a thrown sword may hit by the blade, tip, flat, or pommel.

Yeah, the "arrow" everyone is talking about is really just a point.
