!!SCIENCE!! On death.
« on: August 09, 2012, 04:25:13 am »

So, having jammed every bone in this guys body trough his muscles, and broken every joint, he seems to not die.
So as far as i know, he isnty bleeding, hasent bleed, and still has his head and lower body, so infact i could kleep on smashing his limbs untill he eventually dies of thirst or punctures his skin so he bleeds out?

Cant someone die of serious physical trauma?

I know, but the thing is, can you kill someone in other ways than bleeding out, beheading or bisection?

Well, infections can kill. :P
Also, if you manage to ruin someones lungs, they might suffocate. Or maybe you could choke them till they die. Some things (i.e. vampires) don't breathe though, so be aware of that.

Thats right, would be cool if when wrestling someone in a river "takedown by head" would be holding their head underwater, and they would have to break your grip to be able to get free.

So drowning, yep.

Also choking on smoke to death. So add crushing to that mix as well.

It seems to me that most creatures (keas, macaques, etc.) die after losing a quorum of limbs, even without any announcements about bleeding, brain damage/removal or suffocation. Might have something to do with lack of [GRASP] parts, but my knowledge of the game code is seriously too lacking to state that more strongly than 'maybe.'

Children you rescue shouldn't behave like rabid beasts.  I guess your regular companions shouldn't act like rabid beasts either.
I think that's a little more impossible than I'm likely to have time for.

Actually, for non-bleeding creatures (Bronze Colossi, maybe zombies, I'm not sure), fire or magma will cause death by melting or incineration.

I remember reading on the wiki (Or maybe TV Tropes, heheh.) That fire doesn't kill zombies, it makes them angrier.
Or maybe that was magma...

There is no internal bleeding. So, the only kill shot your mace gets is against the head. Bruised lungs will also kill (Slowly).

maces can kill by brakeing spines or mashing ribs in to the heart or both lungs.
fire will kill zombies if it is 10508 °Urist(252c/540 °F) or more as there bones will start to burn.

Realistically breaking bones should cause internal bleeding, and sufficiently battered organs should as well.  Probably on the todo list.

Right now I'm pretty sure you can break every bone in someone's body, and as long as you don't jam it through both lungs, his heart or his brain, he'll be alive.  And probably trying to bite you.

your right the spines bone can be broken and not tear the nervous tissue.
temperatures lower than -56C( -68 °F) should begin to take frost damage.

edit you dont realy need any of your organs or guts it just the blood loss will kill you if thay get cut out.
