Corpse not being brought to coffin/tomb

So I found out I have a ghost, and at some point I dumped most of his body parts. No big deal I assume, and I proceed to un-forbid his body parts and set up plenty of coffins.

His body (and various parts) are brought to the corpse stockpile, and never make it to the coffin. The ghost is still there doing basically nothing. I was even able to make one of the coffins his tomb (didn't know that was possible for those already dead), but nothing is being moved still.

What could be going on?

I have the weirdest time with dumps, too.

Strange sentence.  Anyhow,

Can you assign a deceased dwarf to a particular grave?  There is also the slab method.

I've noticed, at least in 34.09, that dwarves are VERY lazy about putting things in coffins and tombs, or that the job just don't shows up even with plenty of empty coffins for them to stuff. I don't know why or even how to improve that.

You can designate one guy to Cleaning (under other) and Burial (under hauling) duty, this way you will ensure timely burial and tidyness as both of the jobs are so low priority that basically they will never get done otherwise.

Happened once to me, too, after i played too much with graves and coffins.

Hm, that didn't sound that good. Well, i basically freed a grave that was already claimed and had some body parts of dwarf A, and the other body parts that were transported ended in another grave, sharing it with dwarf B. After i freed that grave, dwarf A remains just lied there without anyone touching them.

Just engrave a slab to fix it.
