People in the real world worship deities, too. The difference is that the DF gods do stuff (you know, big, verifiable stuff). Also, I think you mean 1050 years.

This is an awesome idea. Although I'm probably just saying that because of my dire urge to find Blind Pygmy Cave Dwarves.

Why would small, blind, cave-dwelling dwarves shoot webs?

Because everything should shoot webs underground.

the Dwarves worship deities, so basically we're going to ignore any evidence of the simulator's existence and assume Armok created everything in 1025 years
"And on the 274062nd day, Armok made a false god curse a random homeless dwarf with vapirism, and He saw that it was Good.
And on the 274063rd day, he did nothing.

This is not really the place for that, but Real dieties and some sort of evolution are not mutually exclusive. It would be best for DF for the game not to be a static permanent universe, created by the Gods. In fact, the gods should just be part of the simulation, by interfering in planetary matters, but certainly not by being omnipotent(think Discworld Gods)

There's also the evidence of current cave bears, ogres, toads, etc.
