Hmm seeing how unbalanced the pricing is maybe he should enact a debt system for the actual character creation. As in if you go 30 or so points over you still start with the stuff, but you dont earn anything until you pay it off

Firehawk
Human (60)
Steel twohanded sword (68)

5 Points in dodger (50)
2 Points in swordsman (20)

gimme the tiger!

Problems with your math: a steel twohander is not 30+38, it's 30*38 - waaay over the starting budget.
Skill upgrade costs increase with each level, so skill level 1 is 10, and adding one to that is 20, etc. So level 5 would be 10+20+30+40+50=150, level 2 would be 10+20=30.

i fixed that ;)

I have removed iron. Anyone using iron is automatically changed to bronze and refunded whatever they would have lost.

GreatWyrmGold: Names and descriptions are both welcomed and encouraged. I love stories and roleplaying, it makes my life more easy, as well.

BFEL: Mods are welcome, but will be tested by me first. I don't have a lot of time for doing so right now as my birthday party is tomorrow, so I have a lot of setting up to do. However, Sunday I will begin testing suggested. Modding is, afterall, what really makes dwarf fortress fun.

Eric Blank: I considered adding in the various animal person races, but really did not feel like testing all of them. I suppose if someone desperately wants a particular one, I could do testing for it.

Wrex: smakemupagus is 100% correct. I am using the base prices from dwarf fortress. I'd be happy to change and shift around the prices of materials and items if people want me to. However, "please do" is not a good enough argument, I require reason. Such as with iron and bronze, enough reason was provided, thus I removed iron.

Firehawk: Ishar is correct.

BFEL#2: I dislike the idea of allowing characters to go into debt. There is currently already 1 way for such to happen, and I'm already trying to find a way around that. I would rather balance the prices with the help of all you guys. Of course, the ones that payed too much for something will be compensated.

I'll do the other fights in a while. Are you guys enjoying the way I'm typing up the fights? Or would you like me to do it differently?

Well Abscondcrow, if it isn't too late, I'll consider being drafted to the whole mayhem.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I feel somewhat confident with this layout to tackle...  the wolf.  I'd probably see a very good chance of the goblin winning this one.  As for the storytelling, you're doing fairly well.  On another note, how much would crossbow/bow/blowgun ammo cost?

ansontan2000:You do have to purchase them, I'm afraid.

NESgamer190: It's not too late. I don't really want to close registration, but if too many people join, it will start to go pretty slow. Still considering. I haven't checked your build to see if its legal yet, will do when I put up your fight, later today.

When the annoncer called fro the manager of the unarmored warrior to claim the winning price, a stunning thing happened. The fighter himself stepped forward - it seems like this poor soul has chosen the career of a gladiator by free will. It takes a rare kind of crazy to enter these matches willingly.
The human introduced himself as Ishar, took the money, and bought a copper breastplate, instantly obliterating everything that was interesting about him in the first place.

Gladiator 1: Human (60)
Weapon: Bronze Short Sword (70),
Armor: Copper Breastplate (30)
Skills: Swordfighter 2, Fighter 2. (60)
Total worth: 225
Leftover money: 5

Give me that tiger now, I think I can take it with a bit of luck.

Is it too late to join? If not, I have this little beauty for ya :P
Aziz Hal-Abib
Ex Slavemaster from a foreign land, completely without morals. For some unknown reason, he has left his homeland, with a mysterious burn on his back.
As soon as he was given the money, he proceeded to buy the materials for creating a strange, almost pagan, mask.
Only time will tell what he plans to do.
Human
Wolf Leather Leggings
Wolf Leather Mask
Bronze High Boots
Bronze Scourge
2 levels in Lasher
1 level in dodge
1 level in striking
1 level in armor user
Also, he has a nasty penchant for hating EVERYTHING that is under the sun. Keep that in mind.
The walking target will take on... A WOLF.

Well I already submitted the thoht for testing. In the horribly unlikely event its declared legal set me up with one, no armor, skills or weapons. Just the thoht (I figure his race would cost at least all 200 starting points). And put him against the strongest thing you have at the moment :P
