A "Goblin Bone War Hammer"

So one of my craftsdwarves got a mood and ended up making an artifact Goblin Bone War Hammer. Will this thing be effective in combat or should I just keep it in the "trophy case" I.E. Weapon stockpile :P?

Drop it in a weapon trap in your dining hall so that all may admire it.

Yeah, bone's not particularly dense. It's better off being used as decoration in a weapon trap.

Give it to the hammerer unless you find/make a wood/adamantium hammer. If you've been screening dwarves you'll have an "unquestionably weak" dwarf to give it to.

How would I give to the hammerer anyway? I never figured out how to equip dwarves other than my military because they have an actual screen for it.
