With a dying gurgle, your car ceases to function. Damn. It is dark. You appear to be on an old road, dirty and unkempt. The wind nips briskly at your neck. You can see a town in the distance.


What do you do?

Check gas gauge. If it was empty of gas and there is an extra gas tank in the vehicle, refuel. If not, try and recall what exactly went on with the vehicle before it died.

The tank is still half full, odd. Now that you think about it, you recall the headlamps began to flicker a few minutes ago, but it didn't seem out of the ordinary at the time. The car itself is a bit of a junker, but up until now it worked just fine. You check the trunk in case you have any petrol, but you only have your medical kit.

Turn on flashlight to check and test battery connection, as this may have happened due to corrosion of the connections.

Examine spark plug to see if it is fouled. If it seems to be fine as well, check surroundings with the flashlight.

The Spark plug is likewise functional. You flash the light around to get a look at your surroundings. You are on a road, with a lake off to one side, and a rocky hillside on the other, the town being built up into the hillside. You see nothing of immediate intrest. A town looms about a half mile ahead.

Take the medkit from the trunk and anything else that may be of use in the car, be it a tire iron, a lighter, or whatever. Keep hand on pistol in jacket pocket, and conserve flashlight batteries on the road to the town if the moon is bright enough. Head towards town.

Deciding to do what no one else does, you lock the doors and try to drift off into sleep, but it eludes you. Something feels....wrong. You take your medical kit, and flip through it's contents: A lighter, a bottle of pain killers, some water, and a bottle of anti-anxiety medication. You close it back up, and stick it in your pocket. You begin to walk towards the town.

You begin to move the half mile towards the town, begin extra vigilant. Unfortunately, visibility is poor, and your flashlight is not on. The night is strangely silent, and the wind is dead and lifeless. A mist hangs heavy in the air over the ground to either side of the road, occasioanlly floating up to chill your legs.
